📋 The template du FAB-DIS 3.0
The FAB-DIS 3.0 template is the official Excel file in which you enter your product data. It is structured into thematic blocks, each corresponding to a specific aspect of product information.
Template structure:
🔴 Mandatory blocks
Minimum information required for all products.
🟠 Conditional blocks
Information required depending on the product type.
🟢 Optional blocks
Optional additional information.
📑 Excel format
Never modify its structure (headers, columns).
⚡ Block and field statuses
Each field in the template has a status indicating whether it must be filled in:
🔴 Mandatory
Fields that must be filled in.
🟠 Conditional
Fields that become mandatory or optional depending on what is filled in in the mandatory blocks.
🟢 Optional
Useful but not essential fields.
Any non-mandatory field that is not applicable must remain empty (never filled in by mistake).
📦 Obligations by item type
The mandatory blocks vary depending on whether the reference is a physical product or a service:
| Reference type | Mandatory blocks |
|---|---|
| Physical product | B00, B01, B02, B03, B04 |
| Service | B00, B01, B03 (+ B04 if needed) |
📖 The manual FAB-DIS 3.0
The FAB-DIS manual is the fundamental reference for building any FAB-DIS file. It guides you through understanding the structure, blocks, fields, attributes and compliance requirements.
Always consult the manual for each field you fill in. It tells you exactly what to enter and how to format it.
🔍 How to read the manual?
From pages 1 to 20 of the manual, you will find a brief presentation of the FAB-DIS blocks along with some rules and tips.
From page 21, all the file’s fields (columns) are detailed by block (tab) according to a standardised structure:

The 8 elements to spot in the manual:
- The block concerned — always shown at the top left of the page (e.g. B00_CARTOUCHE).
- The field name — the short field identifier (e.g. DECSEP).
- The field title — the full field name (e.g. Decimal separator).
- The field status — Mandatory (M), Conditional (C) or Optional (O).
- The description — an explanation of the information expected.
- The example — an example of what is expected (e.g. DOT, COMMA).
- The maximum number of characters allowed in the field (e.g. 10).
- The expected format for entering the data (e.g. Text).
So, by reading the manual, we understand that the DECSEP field is used to indicate the decimal separator used throughout the file. It is a mandatory field to be filled in by writing either DOT or COMMA, in text format, without exceeding 10 characters.
At the end of each block explained in the manual, you will find complete examples with different situations and product types. This helps you get a clearer, broader picture of how to fill in your block correctly.
📋 The attributes file
The attributes file is a companion file to the manual. For each attribute (a type of data you want to transmit in the various blocks), it indicates the status of the fields to fill in: Mandatory (M), Conditional (C) or Optional (O).

It is an Excel file with 4 columns:
- The list of possible attributes in the block.
- The fields to fill in for each attribute.
- The field status (M / C / O) per attribute.
- The description of the data expected in each field.
The attributes file has one tab per block, and each tab lists all the possible attributes for that block.
If a manufacturer wants to attach a 3D visual to a reference in the MEDIA block, they must use the MODEL360 attribute in MTYP, and fill in the mandatory fields MNOM (file name) and MURLT (download link). They can also provide a display link and fill in MNUM if transmitting several 3D visuals for the same reference.
This file is essential for the MEDIA, REGULATORY, EXTENSION and CORRESPONDENCE blocks.
📊 The tables file
The tables file gathers all the lists of authorised values and codes for certain FAB-DIS fields. For the relevant fields, the manual indicates that you must refer to the FAB-DIS tables file.
It is also sorted by block and lists all the values and codes usable for the various attributes and fields.

Among other things, the tables file specifies:
- The units of measurement to use for dimensions and weight
- The codes for the languages in which the media attached to your references are written
- The codes for packaging types
- And many other standardised lists essential to file compliance
Always keep the tables file at hand while building your FAB-DIS file. Systematically refer to the authorised values to ensure your data is valid. For blocks with many codes, use the filters on the Attributes, TableLabel and Field columns for easier use.
⚠️ Points of attention
A few rules to always keep in mind when working with the FAB-DIS KIT:
- The KIT documents are updated regularly. Always check that you are using the latest version.
- Never modify the structure of the FAB-DIS template (adding/removing columns, changing headers).
- Always keep the reference documents open while working on your FAB-DIS file.
- Always use the codes from the tables file to avoid validation errors.
