The FAB-DIS 3.0 Template
The official template for your product data
The FAB-DIS 3.0 template is the official Excel file in which you must enter your product data. It is structured into thematic blocks, each corresponding to a specific aspect of product information.
Mandatory Blocks
Minimum information required for all products.
Conditional Blocks
Information required depending on the product type.
Optional Blocks
Optional additional information.
Block and Field Statuses
Understanding obligation levels
Obligation levels vary depending on your industry. The FAB-DIS model is designed to adapt to the nature of your products and the specifics of your sector. Depending on the complexity level you specify, certain fields automatically become mandatory. This is the core strength of the FAB-DIS 3.0 model: a dynamic structure that adjusts to the products described. This sector-differentiated complexity logic applies to all blocks in the model.
Mandatory
Fields that must be filled in without exception.
Conditional
Fields that become mandatory or optional depending on context.
Optional
Useful but non-essential fields.
Obligations by Item Type
Required blocks by reference type
| Reference Type | Mandatory Blocks |
|---|---|
| Physical Product | B01 B02 B03 B04 |
| Service | B01 B07 B03 + B03 if consumable |
The FAB-DIS 3.0 User Guide
The fundamental reference for building your file
The FAB-DIS user guide is the fundamental reference for building any FAB-DIS file. It helps you understand the structure, blocks, fields, attributes, and compliance requirements.
Usage principle: Systematically refer to the user guide for every field you fill in. It tells you exactly what to enter and how to format it.
How to Read the User Guide?
Detailed reading guide
From page 1 to 20 of the user guide, you will find a concise overview of the FAB-DIS blocks along with some rules and tips. From page 21 onward, all fields (columns) of the file are detailed by blocks (tabs).
The relevant block
Always noted in the top left: e.g. BN_CARTOUCHE
The field name
The short field identifier (e.g.: ISDDIT)
The field label
The human-readable field name, description label
The field security
Information about what data is expected
Max. characters
Maximum number allowed in this field
Expected format
Format for filling in (e.g.: Text)
Sample example
Examples of what is expected (e.g.: PERIOD, COMMA…)
The Attributes File
Essential complement to the user guide
The Attributes File indique pour chaque attribut (type de données que vous souhaitez transmettre) le statut des champs à remplir : Mandatory (O), Conditional (C), ou Optional (F).
Example: To attach a 3D visual to a reference in the MEDIA block, use the MODEL360 attribute in MTYP and mandatorily fill in the MNOM and MURLT fields.
The Tables File
All authorized values and codes
The Tables File regroupe toutes les listes de valeurs et codes autorisés pour certains champs du FAB-DIS. Il est trié par blocs et recense toutes les valeurs et codes utilisables.
In the tables file, each tab is dedicated to a specific block. The columns allow you to quickly identify the code to use and its meaning.
